[ Bots heard ‘round the world: AI and the future of astronomy](https://cecc.anu.edu.au/news/bots-heard-round-world-ai-and-future-astronomy) explains how Dr. Ioana (Jo) Ciucă and her research partner Prof. Yuan-Sen Ting came to ANU to explore the origins of our galaxy from the nexus of artificial intelligence and astronomy, and now find themselves leading a team of AI and Astronomy researchers using Large Language Models to transform the nature of literature-based research in Astronomy.

In the Spring of 2023, Alyssa Goodman fostered a collaboration between Jo Ciucă, her whole large "UniverseTBD" team, and Microsoft Research that is now (as of later in 2023) working to connect ADS' holdings to ChatGPT4-like search, in direct collaboration with OpenAI/Microsoft reseachers and technologists.
